Sporting Highlights

During the holidays our students benefited from some excellent tennis (Portugal) and football (Paris) tours led by staff. The footballers won the Shield final.

Shortly before the end of term the Lower School raised a brilliant £1000 for Sport Relief by running a mile in fancy dress.

Cross Country

Phoebe Barker finished third and OS Chris Olley finished first while representing England at the Home Countries competition.

Football

The U13A team have been awarded Highly Commended in this season’s Fair Play Award from the ISFA!

Fencing

Miranda Stevens came fifth and Sophie Rayment came second at the Public Schools Fencing championships.

Netball

The U16 side acquitted themselves superbly at the national finals finishing ninth, while the U12 team are Kent Champions.

Rugby

The U14 Sevens team are Kent Champions.

Sailing

The 1st team put in an excellent performance at the UK Team Racing Championships, finishing 11th overall. They were comfortably the top school team and finished ahead of a number of university and senior teams, notably including Oxford and Bristol.

Nicholas Davies put in a great performance at the Lake Lugano Europa Cup 2016 Regatta over Easter. He achieved a podium finish of third place out of 79 boats in what was only his second regatta in the Laser 4.7 dinghy class. Beaten only by two Italians, Nicholas finished ahead of the many national teams in attendance.

Old Sennockians

Thomas Scott (OS 2013) has won a blue at Middleweight in Boxing for Oxford.

Chris Olley (OS 2014) took first place in the Junior Men’s race at the Home Countries International Cross Country at Falkirk, representing England.

Yachtsman of the Year and Olympic medallist Ian Walker (OS 1988) successfully skippered a Volvo Ocean 65 monohull yacht with six celebrities for the Hell on High Seas challenge, raising over £1m for Sport Relief.
