Sporting Highlights

Cross country

A huge congratulations to the U13 boys who won the IAPS regional cross country competition at Somerhill: the first time we’ve ever won this event! The girls also had a great race, finishing second.

The squad enjoyed a very successful swimming and cross country training camp to Club La Santa, Lanzarote, during half term. While there, five students completed their first half-marathon with some very impressive times; Year 10 student Fenton Davoren finished in an incredible 1 hour 23 mins.

Football

At the U18 ISFA national seven-a-side tournament, the girls’ 1st XI at reached the quarter-finals, drawing 1-1 with Repton, but eventually losing on penalties.

Hockey

The U16 girls won the regional round and progress through to the last four in the East of England region, and the U14 girls are county champions and progress through to the regional rounds.

Shooting

A match against Cambridge University produced a pleasing victory for our shooters. The scores were Sevenoaks with 1438 ex.1500 vs Cambridge’s 1404. This is our third win in a row (second this term) out of the three shoulder-to-shoulder matches we have had.

Swimming

The following students represented Kent at the National Inter-Counties Team Finals, where Kent finished fifth out of 20 counties:

  • Kara Dimond 12th out 20, 100m Breaststroke 1:18.27
  • Louis Hayes 8th out of 20, 100m Backstroke 1:00.25
  • Louis Hayes 6th out of 20, 100m Butterfly 58.39
  • Isabella Okaro Medley Team 1st
  • Louis Hayes Medley Team 9th

Louis now ranks 1st in all time Kent U14 in 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke.

Tennis

Well done to Allegra Cuomo who was runner-up in the 12U final (girls) at The Beckenham Sports Club.

Sports camps

We ran a superb set of sports camps over half term at The Sennocke Centre. Thanks to all the coaches involved.
