Sporting Highlights

Cross country

A huge congratulations to the U13 boys who won the IAPS regional cross country competition at Somerhill: the first time Sevenoaks has won this event! The girls also had a great race, finishing second.

Football

At the U18 ISFA Girls seven-a-side tournament, the team reached the quarter-final, eventually losing to Repton on penalties.

Hockey

The U16 girls won the regional round and progressed to the last four in the East of England, and the U14 squad are county champions, progressing to the regional rounds. 

 

Netball

The U14 squad won the county qualifying tournament, winning all six of their matches.

 

Sailing

On the first weekend of half term we took four teams to Oxford for the RYA Youth and Junior Championships. Our senior A and B teams finished second and fourth in the U19s (out of 24) and our U16s finished 12th and 24th overall (out of 28).

Swimming

The school relay teams have qualified nine teams for the ESSA Secondary Schools Team Championship national finals for the second year in a row.

The following students represented Kent at the national Inter-Counties Team Finals. Kent finished fifth out of 20 counties. 

  • Kara Dimond 12th out 20, 100m Breaststroke 1:18.27
  • Louis Hayes 8th out of 20, 100m Backstroke  1:00.25
  • Louis Hayes 6th out of 20, 100m Fly  58.39
  • Isabella Okaro Medley Team, 1st
  • Louis Hayes Medley Team, 9th

Louis Hayes now ranks first in all time Kent U14 in 100m IM, 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke. 

At the South East Winter Regionals, Louis Hayes made the Open 100IM final. He won the U16 Junior Silver in the 100m IM (swimming above his age group). He will compete against older swimmers again at the upcoming winter nationals where there will be only U16 and Open finals.

Shooting

Our match against Cambridge University produced a pleasing victory. The scores were Sevenoaks with 1438 ex.1500 vs Cambridge’s 1404. This is our third win in a row (second this term) out of the three shoulder-to-shoulder matches we have had.

Tennis

Well done to Sevenoaks player Allegra Cuomo who was runner-up in the 12U final at Beckenham Sports Club. 

Old Sennockians

Natasha Farrant (OS) has been named in the Full England cricket squad for the ICC Women’s World T20.
