RIBA National Award 2019

Sevenoaks School’s Science and Technology Centre and Global Study Centre has won a prestigious RIBA National Award 2019.

The RIBA National Awards are given to buildings across the UK recognised as significant contributions to architecture. This year's winners, announced on 27 June 2019, were selected from the RIBA Regional Award winners named earlier this year in which the building won the RIBA South East Award 2019 and the RIBA South East Client of the Year Award 2019.

Recognised as a ‘serious work of architecture, respectful to adjacent buildings of all ages, urbanistic in its spatial approach and remarkably consistent in the high-quality approach to detailing’ the new centre is celebrated as a ‘great cathedral of a space, full of life and light.’

Designed by Tim Ronalds Architects, the new building places science and technology at the heart of the school. It sits alongside the RIBA Award winning Performing Arts Centre, The Space, also completed by Tim Ronalds Architects in 2010.

These buildings were made possible because of the support of Sevenoaks School Foundation and the generosity of donors from the school community. Thank you to all those who have encouraged and supported this vision.
