Sporting highlights

Athletics

Congratulations to Fenton Davoren who has broken the U17 1500m school record with a time of 4.13.95

Cricket

Congratulations to Isla McCulloch and Ella Lockhart who have been selected into the Kent Cricket Girls Development Programme which is the equivalent of the Emerging Player Programme (EPP) for the boys.

Sailing

Congratulations to Andy Cornah (Head of Sailing) and George Haynes (OS 2016) who won the RYA National Winter Match Racing Championships 2020 over the weekend.

Swimming

Congrats to Lara Bartleet who was able to do her channel swim after many cancelled dates. After 13.5 hours of swimming through the dark, through an oil slick, through the shipping channels and right into French waters, at the very last minute a big squall blew up and they had to call the swim off with 750m to go. Despite a frustrating end, they raised £8,000 for the Alzheimer's Society.

Tennis

Our tennis players have had a fantastic week.

Nate de Mariveles, Matthew McLain and Tommy Cuomo competed in the national U11 tournament in Bath, a tournament for the top 16 players in that age group.

Madeleine Brown won the U16 event at the Canterbury Autumn Open and finished as runner up at the U18 event in East Glos.

Serena Manca was invited to the U12 National Match play tournament for the top 16 players in the country, in Sheffield. Unfortunately she couldn’t attend because Sheffield went into Tier 3.
