Sporting highlights

Over the first two terms of this academic year we have played 749 fixtures, winning 389. Nearly 800 out of our total 1054 pupils represented the school, which is a superb stat and will only increase as the summer season begins. 

Basketball

Sevenoaks put in some excellent performances at the Tonbridge tournament, winning against Cranbrook and Skinners academy.

Cricket

Old Sennockian Natasha Farrant (OS 2014) has been called up to the T20 Cricket World Cup to represent the senior England women’s team.

Fencing

Sophie Rayment took part in the BYC qualifiers/South East championships. She won the U14s and qualified for the national finals.

Football

At the weekend’s fixtures we gained a brilliant set of results versus Colfe’s and Epsom, only losing two and drawing one.

Hockey

Congratulations to the U14 Hockey side who performed brilliantly at the nationals in the Olympic Park. They remain in the top eight teams in the country.

Netball

There was an excellent set of results for the U14s this weekend, and the leading U14 side are attending the nationals at Roedean next weekend.

Sailing

Sevenoaks competed in the UK Team Racing Nationals 2016 on 12-13 March at Bough Beach Sailing Club. There was a good mix of school, university and senior teams all vying for the senior national title. Our 1st team put in an excellent performance to finish 11th. They were comfortably the top school team and finished ahead of a number of university and senior teams, notably including Oxford and Bristol.

Shooting

The squad have enjoyed an excellent season, defeating Oxford University after fine victories over Cambridge and Imperial College.

Tennis

Sevenoaks was presented with the Education award at the Kent LTA awards dinner, in recognition of services to British tennis and being selected as a county winner at the first Aegon British Tennis Awards.  

The senior mixed team attended the national finals in Bolton over the weekend. The team lost their first match and won their second, and lost their third, finishing as the seventh/eighth team in the country.
