The screening takes place right next to where the film’s story, about pioneering urban gardener Seth El-Shaddai, unfolded. In the summer of 2022, plants begin to appear along the disused slipway next to Riverside Studios. Soon the space was transformed into an eccentric garden by Seth. He named the garden Bloomtide.
All seemed well until June 2023 when Seth was ordered by the local council to remove his plants. BLOOMTIDE follows Seth’s efforts over one summer to come to a compromise with the council; saving the garden and keeping his dreams alive.
