It’s always a joy to hear of Old Sennockians making a difference in the world. Rahul Nambiar (OS 2020) (pictured centre) is co-founder of web-based education management tool Jochi, for which he was awarded the University of Pennsylvania President’s Innovation Prize.
Jochi supports and improves the experiences of students with learning differences to help them keep track of school assignments and outside activities as well as allowing educators to better provide student support. Rahul and his colleagues have big plans for Jochi, which is currently in nine schools, reaching around 900 students, with a goal to reach 20,000 learners by May 2025.
Rahul says: ‘Although I started this company after leaving Sevenoaks, the support I received from Dr Owen and all my teachers was integral to our mission to bring support to students worldwide.’
The President’s Innovation Prizes award funding to Penn students for projects designed to create positive, lasting social change.
