OS community service during Covid-19

The Sevenoaks community spirit doesn’t end when you leave Sevenoaks School. There are over 10,000 Old Sennockians, many of whom are working hard to serve their communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ed Gray (OS 2003) runs Watts Farms, a family-run farm in Aylesford, Kent, which provides food to local restaurants and schools, and has now switched to offering home deliveries. Will Edge (OS 1997) owns Greensand Ridge Distillery, which has started supplying hand sanitiser made from their distilling by-product to care homes and is looking at providing alcohol-based sanitiser to The Metropolitan Police. Dr Nickolai Vysokov (OS 2005) is supplying face shields 3D printed by his company, BrainPatch, to the NHS.

Some well-known Old Sennockians are creating online communities; Joe Stilgoe (OS 1997) is taking requests and playing music from his shed, while Brett Goldstein (OS 1998) is creating an isolation film club on social media.

Jonny Medland (OS 2006) is working at HM Treasury as the lead in the central team coordinating the department’s response to Covid-19. Major General Charlie Stickland (OS 1986) is Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff Operations and Commitments, working with the COVID Support Force which will be supporting public services.

To keep up to date with the OS community, you can follow the Old Sennockians on Facebook, Instagram (@oldsennockians) and LinkedIn.
