Wellbeing Award for Schools

Sevenoaks School has received the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS) in recognition of our work towards ensuring that every member of the school community is supported and can flourish.

We are delighted to have been given this award. WAS, developed in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau (NCB), helps to ensure that mental health and wellbeing sits at the heart of school life.

The wellbeing award process provided us with a clear framework for analysing our provision around wellbeing and mental health, and enabled us to look objectively and collaboratively at our support systems, engaging with students, parents and staff to seek their views.

The spotlighting of wellbeing proved timely, with the pandemic reshaping the way society responds to wellness and mental health. The award recognises our areas of good practice, including the role staff play in student wellbeing, the counselling and support services we provide and the use of our facilities and environment, while also highlighting important areas for improvement.
